Photography by Ellen Ma
Ellen Ma, Bonaparte’s Hunt, photography.
The birds in these photos are Bonaparte’s gulls preying on sardines at the White Rock Pier. The species is named after Charles Lucien Bonaparte, a French ornithologist and nephew of Napoleon Bonaparte, who spent eight years in America contributing significantly to avian taxonomy and nomenclature. Through this series, I aimed to capture the elegance within a fleeting moment of predation.
Ellen Ma is a photon capturer who primarily shoots on Nikon. Her works range from portraits, to street and wildlife photography, often centred around documenting the natural interactions between people, animals, and their environments.
