Ceramics by I. F.
I. F., unnamed, moss on ceramic.
This piece combines a ceramic skull base covered in real moss to create a juxtaposition between life and death. This juxtaposition highlights the tumultuous process of growing up, where at times one feels as though they will perish from all of their new feelings (shown through the skull) while they are still very much alive (shown through the moss). This piece illustrates my own journey with being overwhelmed with anxiety, where at times I felt as though I was going to die (of course, very dramatic), but have always pushed through.
I. F. is a Visual Arts student at Mulgrave who specialises in ceramic and three-dimensional art. Though it is just a pastime, I. F. uses art to express the stress and social complexity that they face in everyday life.
